History
Secom Systems’ roots go back to 1965 when two brothers-in-law, Joe Hinerfeld and Ed Wolfe, founded SECOM (an abbreviation for Southeastern Communications) as an independent manufacturers’ representative company. In 1991, the company split and Secom Systems was incorporated, maintaining a focus on the two way radio industry. With the passing of Joe Hinerfeld in 2010, his daughter, Alison Winter, and his oldest son, Alex Hinerfeld, took the helm as President and Vice President, respectively.
Both Alison and Alex have worked for Secom Systems since the early 90’s so the transition to these new roles was a smooth one. Secom Systems’ home office staff and it’s sales team has remained largely the same through the years, enabling the company to build strong relationships with manufacturers, dealers and end-users in their respective territories and develop an extensive understanding of the markets, competitive landscape, technologies and manufacturers with which Secom works.
